Xbox 360 Prices Getting Slashed

Xbox 360 with dollar signsWord on the street is Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is getting a price cut - up to $50 bucks worth. Apparently it started with a Circuit City advertisement, funny thing is the ads came out before M$oft had a chance to say it themselves. Actually they did say something… nothing:

“We have no announcements to make on pricing at this time. While price matters, content is king. And no other system is offering all the games people want to play this holiday at a better price than Xbox 360.”

According to the ad, the 20GB Premium Xbox 360 drop $50 to a new price of $349.99. The Xbox 360 Core package price will drop $20 to $279, while the Xbox 360 Elite will go for $449, representing a drop of $30.

Looks like Bill and crew are trying to keep up with the recent surge in PS3 sales, they say content is king but what good’s all that content if nobody’s buying your system? Remember when the Atari dropped to just $50 bucks? Yea, that commercial was memorable, all kinds of folks went out and bought an Atari. Heck of a deal.
