Xbox 360 Offers Wireless And Wired Guitars For Rock Band
Their is a new game coming to the Xbox 360, which everyone will want to rock out to. Rock Band is the newest musical game that comes with a wired guitar for everyone to jam on.
When you purchase the game by itself you can choose between a wireless or wired guitar, depending on your preference. Just keep in mind that when you buy the game that comes with the console you will only get the wired one.
On both the Xbox 360 and PS3, a USB hub will also come with the game which will allow gamers to connect up their microphone and drum kit (both of which will be wired on PS3 and Xbox 360) alongside their guitar. Rigopulos, Harmonix CEO, commented that the reason for the difference between the bundled guitars on the Xbox 360 and PS3 is because “the cost of wireless technology on the Microsoft side is higher.”
“The cost of wireless technology on the Microsoft side is higher,” Rigopulos said. “To be able to offer those bundles at a price point that would be reasonable for consumers it was necessary [to bundle wired controllers].”
By comparison, all PS3 controllers will be wireless and come bundled with the game. The tentative Wii version is expected to feature wireless controllers as well given that the competing Guitar Hero 3 supports wireless Wii controllers.
Rock Band will be released on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 November 20th. We don’t know exactly how much it will cost, but we are assuming that it will be around $200.
