Xbox 360 Says Goodbye To Nintendo Wii

Halo Vs. WiiMicrosoft was happy when they sold over $300 million dollars worth of Halo 3 games in the first week, but now they are throwing a huge party(or at least they should)because they have officially earned their way back up to number one in the console wars pushing the Wii out of it way. When we say push we really mean shove(;D).

The Xbox 360 finally outsold the nigh-invincible Nintendo Wii by some 25,000 units, though if those VGC numbers are right, the Wii’s not-so-little sibling, the Nintendo DS, is still giving the H3-rejuvenated 360 a 20,000-plus unit drubbing, and you can be sure Zelda: Phantom Hourglass which just came out on Monday is only going to extend that lead going forward(one thing at a time).

Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder and chairman, said: “Halo is truly a cultural phenomenon, and the launch of Halo 3 is an important milestone for Xbox 360 and for video games as entertainment and as an art form.”

I don’t think that when the first Halo came out two years ago any of us expected it to be such a popular game, or for even us as an individual to love it so much. At least now Microsoft can breathe a little easier. Let’s hope the Sony gets the kind of luck that Microsoft just received.
