Wii Introduces New ‘Mii’ Channel
Nintendo has created a place where fellow Mii’s can hang out together by launching a new Wii channel that is exclusive to them. The channel – which will be launching this week – allows users to upload the avatars that they have created and to share their ‘Mii’ characters with other gamers.
“The Check Mii Out Channel lets people show off their Mii creations and vote on those created by others,” Nintendo of America Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison said. The new channel will have various competitions, including look-alike contests where users will be asked to create Mii representations of movie stars, or of descriptive themes like “the overbearing boss”.
The channel will contain both a posting and a contest section. The posting section will allow players to browse, submit, and exchage Miis. Players will be able to view random Miis, favorite Miis, or search for specific Miis by name or a unique number.
The free channel will be available November 11th. It will be the first Wii channel that gives users the ability to interact with others random gamers online.
