Wii Gets Upgrade And USB Keyboard
Nintendo is upgrading the Wii to support USB keyboards so that gamers can access the internet. Version 3.1 will give the Wii built-in wireless network capability and the best part about this upgrade is that it is free.
The update finally allows users to use any USB keyboard to enter text in the Wii’s Internet browser. Also users can now send links to other Wii users, and a “copy/paste” feature has been added so users can copy a line of text and then paste it in a search box or the URL field.
The Wii’s main user interface sports an “Internet Channel” that can be activated by redeeming 500 “Wii Points” from the “Wii Shop Channel,” where users can also buy versions of classic console games that run on the Wii. that enables the Wii to go online using a version of Opera Software’s eponymous Web browser.
For those of you who were convinced that the Wii could do no more good in the world we are glad to prove you wrong. Nintendo is on the right track to making its customers happy and to bring in the newly converted.
