Sony Releases SingStar To PS3
SingStar is one of the more popular items that was released by Sony. That is why it is no surprise to us that they have worked on making a version of the game for the PS3 console. The new version allows you to download songs off of the PlayStation Network and allows you to personalize your playlists.
SingStar for the PS3 is almost the same as the one that was on the PS2 console. You still have the ability to plug in a microphone to the console, and start singing to any song that you like. There are 30 tracks that come on the game and they are from some of the popular bands like Blink 182, Musical Youth, The Killer, and REM. Of course there are some songs on there with titles that we didn’t even recognize.
The big difference to the game is being able to download music that you like and storing it on your hard drive. It’s a nice feature that will add longevity to the game, but the list of songs to download is pretty short at the moment, and at $2.90 a track – which is just a bit expensive for our taste.
While SingStar is a fun game and a good addition to the series it isn’t something that I would rush out to buy. Sony didn’t think to add any new features that would make it more appealing and it seems that they could be dragging the games out a little too far. The only thing that makes it worth buying is the ability to download your favorite songs and to listen to them.
