Shortage Of Nintendo Wii May Affect X-Mas Shopping
It might have taken people a little bit to get used to the Nintendo Wii, but once they did they loved it. It is second on the top selling list selling over 10,000 consoles(Xbox 360 was first) Which explains why there are shortages of Wii accessories and parts.
Nintendo was hoping to fix this problem by expanding the production in June of this year. Two months later we notice that they haven’t seemed to follow through with this.
Nintendo has had to postpone its plan to start boosting production of Wii consoles due to a shortage of components. Taiwanese component builders say that the ramped-up Wii production cycle was set to originally begin in June, but it is still yet to start.
A Taiwan-based component maker stated: “With the delay of its plans, any easing of the Wii shortages in the worldwide market is unlikely to be seen in the second half of 2007.”
With Christmas fast approaching we can see trouble ahead for Nintendo. Next time they need to make sure that when they create a great product they need to make enough of it. Or at least be supplied by someone who is reliable.
