PS3 To Release Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Sony was hoping that the PS3 would take off starting in 2008 – but was disappointed when they saw that sales were still declining. It seems that even with all of the exclusives that they have paid millions of dollars to show off to PS3 gamers they have not made it to the top of everyone’s to-do list.
This week though Sir Howard Stringer – CEO of Sony – is confident that things will change with the release of the Gran Turismo 5 prologue. This will be the next game in the famous racing series that has sold over 100 million PS2 copies in the past.
Though it won’t be as expansive as the full Gran Turismo 5, which has only a tentative 2008 release window, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will sport the same 60fps, 1080p HD graphics as its bigger brother. Developed by Polyphony Digital, the game will contain some 60 detailed replicas of real-life cars from Nissan, Audi, and Ferrari.
The game itself will be released for $39.99 April 17th. Sony will also be launching Gran Turismo TV - a Playstation Network channel “that delivers worldwide motorsport programming and manufacturer content.”
