PS3 Reaches 1 Million Mark In UK
Sony is excited to see that they have sold over 1 million of their PS3 consoles in the UK since it has been released in March of 2007. They were able to reach this goal after only 47 weeks. This has broken the old record of 50 weeks that it took for the PS2 to reach this 1 million mark.
Sony also managed to beat Microsoft’s Xbox 360, which took 60 weeks, but comes nowhere near the runaway success of Nintendo’s Wii which reached a million UK sales in just 38 weeks. Entertainment market research firm ChartTrack also revealed that the PS3 has been outselling the Xbox 360 for the past month, although they were “neck and neck over the Christmas period”.
It seems that this year the PS3 will out beat the Xbox 360 in the UK. We congratulate Sony and recommend that Microsoft get busy creating a new and improved console or else releasing another popular game before their sales start to drop.
