PlayStation Launches Live Channel

Live Channel LogoPlayStation has launched their brand new service this week - Live Channel. The news and weather service allows you to view what is going on right at that moment in time and what kind of weather you are going to have in your area right there on your PS3 console. The service allows you to view around the 3D map of the world to search for weather and news updates.

You have the ability to pull info from the Weather Channel, Earth Television Network, and Google news. Live Channel can obtain information from at least 60 cities from around the world. The best part about this service is that it is absolutely free - as long as you have a PS3 console of course.

Live Channel will also be able to deliver a variety of channels and interactive content to users that are connected. This will broaden the range of entertainment that they have and allow them to listen to their favorite music while browsing for updates in the weather.

Those who use the service will not only be taking advantage of a free service that will benefit them - but will also benefit researchers at the Stanford University. Users will be taking part in the Folding@home project - which works to find cures for deadly diseases. To get started all you need to do is get onto the XMB of your console and follow the instructions they give you.
