Pirates Transform GameCube Games Into Wii Games

Luigi’s Mansion Pirated Wii EditionIt seems that Pirates are having a hard time trying to sell the classic GameCube games and has turned their attention to the infamous Wii, which seems to getting more and more popular. But are they buying the Wii games and then copying them and then selling them? No these guys are smart!

The Filipino Pirates have learned that when you copy the GameCube games onto a DVD than they become games that you can play on your Wii. So not only are they making more money by selling the ‘Wii’ games, but they are saving money by copying older games.

GameOps reports that the pirated titles are being sold at the Greenhills shopping centre in Manila and that the GameCube games are just being pressed on normal DVD-sized discs. The site’s reporter questioned the shop assistant who claimed that the games on sale were legitimate Wii titles and that releases such as the re-make of the original Metal Gear Solid was the latest of the franchise’s outings.
