Microsoft Starts Project ‘Jasper’ For Xbox 360

Xbox 360 BoxMicrosoft has regained its confidence after the release of Halo3 that brought up their sales. They are ready to do more work and make gaming on the Xbox even better. They are in the process of creating a brand new motherboard for the 360, which they are calling the ‘Jasper’.

The ‘Jasper’ board will finally incorporate a 65nm GPU from ATI to go along with the 65nm CPU from IBM. The board is also said to feature smaller memory chips. With both the CPU and GPU at 65nm(something we’ve been waiting for). Currently, the graphics chip on the Xbox 360 uses a 90-nanometer process. With the new version, the graphics chip will give off less heat, be physically smaller, and cost less to produce.

We’re all looking forward to the release of the ‘Jasper’ even if we do have to wait awhile for it. You can bet that with it comes a price cut, which makes things even better!
