Konami Introduces Rock Revolution

Rock RevolutionRock Revolution was revealed this week at the Konami Gamer’s Night and it was confirmed that it would be released on the PS3, Wii, DS, and Xbox 360. The game is said to feature more than 40 cover songs on the disc which will be “the most realistic drum peripheral on the market.” It will also support guitar and bass as well as the vocals and drums.

Interesting, Wii and DS versions will seemingly be stripped down and/or optimized for their respective strengths. Online multiplayer will not be supported on either, but the Wii version supports air drumming and air guitar like Disney’s forthcoming Ultimate Band, and the DS version will support vocals.

Rock Revolution will be the most innovative and realistic rock game to hit the market, that will provide a quality drum peripheral and music that players will appreciate,” said Anthony Crouts, VP of marketing at Konami. “As the originator of music-based games, we are dedicated to bringing fans a truly preeminent music experience.”

Right now we have been watching closely as Rock Band and Guitar Hero battle it out to be the one on top of the ‘rythm wars’. In order to keep up with Rock Revolutions new features Guitar Hero IV announced that they would also be able to support drums, vocals, and bass and guitar.

Rock Revolution will be released sometime in October
