Guild Wars Celebrates 5 Million Sold

Guild WarBlizzard is well known for its popular and addictive World of Warcraft game. The ability to play with millions of other people in a world that is fascinating to many of us is what has drawn so many gamers into it. It seems though that Blizzards other fun – but not as popular game – Guild Wars may be coming more into the picture.

We all know what Guild Wars is – but we admit that it isn’t as addictive as WOW at least we didn’t think it was. It seems that the franchise has finally reached the 5 million units mark – something that calls for celebration. In case there is any confusion that doesn’t mean that there are five million gamers out there playing Guild Wars (though it is a possibility). This just means that they have sold this many copies of the game.

All of these five million games include the original Guild Wars and all of the expansions (Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North). This may mean that we might see a Guild Wars 2 coming into the market later this year or early in 2009. We might just be convinced to take a break from our WOW experience and try it out.
