Many of us who have an Xbox 360 are waiting for the day when the light goes from green to red. You know that when your console starts flashing red than it has died or has it? There is a trick you can try that might bring it back to life.

What you need are two large bath towels, a stopwatch, and an outlet. First you need to unplug your console from the television and powerbrick it to the closest wall outlet.

Plug the Xbox into the powerbrick and connect that into the outlet. Next you want to wrap the console in one of the towels. Tightly wrap the towel from the top down where you can only see the front button.

Place the second towel layer around the first towel layer, make sure that you can see the start button, push the button, you’ll see the three red lights, and as soon as all three are lit, continue bundling the second towel around until it covers the entire Xbox 360.

Start a fifteen minute countdown on your stopwatch, complete wrapping the Xbox 360 until you cover the front, back, top and bottom completely with your two towels.

Keep an eye on the Xbox 360, at the fifteen minute mark, unwrap the towels and turn off the Xbox 360. Don’t worry if the three blinking red lights are still on. It will continue to be on until you turn it off.

Now you need to let the Xbox 360 cool down. Use your stopwatch to countdown for thirty minutes. Reconnect your Xbox360 to the Television, reconnect the powerbrick and wall socket, and turn it on. It should be fixed and ready to go.
