Europe Adds TV Recorder To PS3

PlayTV For PlaystationIt seems that Europe is making America look bad by improving the Playstation to a degree that has raised the stakes higher than ever in the gaming world. They have just added a DVR to the Playstation making it even more high tech and more worth having than ever.

The device, called PlayTV, will utilize Europe’s Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial (DVB-T) signals to turn your PS3 into a television receiver. PlayTV is a twin TV tuner that will enable European console owners the ability to watch and record their favorite shows to watch at their convenience.

Additionally, PSP owners will be able to stream PlayTV data to their handhelds for instant gratification, or store it on their handheld to watch later. Gamers will also have access to free channels beyond the normal offerings, thanks to Sony.

By adding this Sony has upped the value of the Playstation. PlayTV will be released next year only in Europe. Sony in America is looking into doing the same thing. Let’s make sure we let them know it is a good idea!
