EA Dropping Support for Pre-2007 Online Games
EA (Electronic Arts) announced that, beginning September 1st, they will no longer be offering online support for its older – more specifically those developed prior to 2007 (that’s old?). The first round of shutdowns are almost solely for the older sports titles, which probably won’t make much of an impact on the gaming community because most of the hardcore gamers (those needing support) stay up to date with each year’s new release. Now the second round on November 1st is gonna cut support for Burnout Revenge and Need for Speed titles, which will probably have a more noticable impact on gamers.

This move is notable because it represents the first “next-gen” titles to have their online support dropped – with several Xbox 360 sports titles getting dropped. I guess it’s fair to say you won’t be earning anymore achievements on Xbox Live, heh. Better act fast.
