Disney Reveals ‘Ultimate Band’
This Christmas proved to the gaming world that gamers love to perform and jam out to their favorite music. I don’t think anyone expected Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band to make as big of a hit that they made. Now Disney is hoping to appeal to the more casual gamer with their new game – Ultimate Band that has been released for Nintendo Wii and DS.
Ultimate Band is different from Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band in that it does not require any peripherals. All the player has to do is to build up their own band or they can even play by themselves using the DS stylus and the Wii controllers. This leaves them free from having to buy a package of new controllers although half the fun of Rock Band are the different band parts that you can use.
Ultimate Band for Wii allows players to advance through a music career from playing in a neighborhood garage to performing in front of an international audience. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, fans can play the drums, bass guitar, lead guitar or even take on the role of the front man. Players can also create and customize characters that reflect their own unique personalities and attributes. Along the way, players will unlock new songs, venues and accessories that can be used to customize their band members.
Ultimate Band for Nintendo DS is a rhythm based game that was created inside a recording studio. Players will have the ability to jam to classic and modern songs through the use of drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, and the rhythm guitar. Players will also have the ability to create their own songs using the touch screen and the stylus.
Players will also have the chance to take advantage of ‘DGamer’ – which will give them the ability to play with others on the online community through their DS or the computer. Ultimate Band is set to be released during the 2008 holiday season.
