It seems that everyone is trying to make our world a little more eco friendly and to protect us from the doom of global warming. But I don’t think we’ve even seen it in a video game before. Daedalic Entertainment created A New Beginning for fun and possibly even for teaching us to take care of our world.

A New Beginning is a cinematic, interactive eco-thriller. In the classic adventure game an impending global climate cataclysm threatens the world, in a story ripped from today’s headlines, dealing with the defining issue of our time. At locations all around the globe, players will have to try and stem the tide, with the whole world hanging in the balance.

Obviously it’s down to you to avert this. In order to do so, you take control of two protagonists, scientist Bent Svensson who’s given up on a lifetime of attempting to engineer an eco-friendly alternative energy source, and Fay who’s come from the future to warn him of the impending doom.

players take control of two protagonists and explore the detailed, hand-painted backgrounds. The more than 30 characters are rendered in a realistic 2D style and are animated by hand in feature-film quality. Many challenging puzzles and adventurous situations have to be overcome to prevent the impending climate chaos.

You should also expect numerous challenging puzzles and adventurous situations to overcome. The game, which is still in the production process, is set to be released late in 2008. It will be available to all Nintendo Wii, DS, and PC gamers.
