Sony Makes Downloading Games For PSP Easier

PSPSony announced this week that it will be opening up a Playstation store full of fun games to download that will be available for both PS3 gamers and for PC owners. This new store will make downloading games onto your PSP easier than ever.

Before anyone who wanted to place a game on their PSP had to first download it to their PS3 and than transfer it to the PSP. The games you can purchase from the store include the “classic” PlayStation games and newer games for the PSP. Some of the best exclusives they have is the Syphon Filter, Combat Ops, and Beats – which are available for only $9.99.



Hackers Break The ‘Manhunt’ Code

Manhunt 2 Game StillManhunt 2 was considered to be a violent game and the makers were forced to edit out much of the violence in order to give it the rating it needed before it could be released. This hasn’t stopped hackers from unlocking all that violence and getting the full effect of the game.

The game, initially given an “Adults Only” rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, went on sale in the U.S. on Wednesday with a “Mature” rating, after being modified. Most stores refuse to carry “Adults Only” games; Mature means a game is intended for player 17 or older.



PSP Overtakes Nintendo DS…Finally!

Nintendo DS Next To PSPJapan is one of the top countries when it comes to technology(we all know America is the top dog!). For awhile it seemed like theyvoted for Nintendo along with the rest of us. That was until last week when they switched teams over to Sony.

Nintendo lost some ground in Japan with their Nintendo DS as the Sony PlayStation Portable managed to outsell the DS last week. There has been a huge leap in the sales of over 79,923 units to a total of 95,487, all credited to the launch of the PSP Slim and Lite and the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. However, it is not known how many of the consoles were the original PSPs or the Slim and Lite ones.



Xbox Looks To Knock PSP To 3rd Place

Xbox 360 Next To PSPThe PSP has been holding second place for some time now and the Xbox has been dissapointed to be in dead last. But it seems that it is time for Xbox to get back what its lost by pushing Sony out of the way.

Last week was the slowest sales week for the PSP in the UK since it launched, according to Chart Track figures. Chart Track’s data shows that year on year sales are down 32.1% for this period. Sony has blamed the impending launch of the Slim & Lite version of the handheld for the slowdown. The company told industry mag MCV that retailers are ‘thinning out’ stock of the existing PSP for the launch of the new version on September 14th.



PSP Celebrates Two Years With New Features

PSP SlimThe Playstation Portable(PSP)has been around for two whole years and like most companies, Sony has decided to celebrate its succees by spicing it up and adding some new features that people are going to love. Plus they are letting us in on a few features that they will be adding over the coming months.

The new model PSP Slim and Lite includes a video-out port for displaying PSP content on TVs and is a third lighter than the previous model and a fifth thinner. It will be out across Europe on 5 September and will cost €169 on the continent. It will be available in several colours right from the start, including white, black and silver.
