Sony Reveals PSP-3000

PSP-3000Japan is excited to see that their sales for the PlayStation Portable has picked up. This news will only add to their success as they will be revealing the new and improved PSP soon – which will offer gamers a clearer and more crisp display screen along with other features.

Even with all of the new features that it is bound to receive there is no gaurantee that the new PSP will not be facing any competition. The Nintendo DS is still its greatest competitor and it will have to outsell these handhelds before they can truly celebrate. Already Nintendo is breaking their PS3 sales with the Wii console.



360/PS3 Version Of Star Wars: Force Unleashed “Indistinguishable”

Star Wars: Force UnleashedCameron Suey the producer of the new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed stated that, “Between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, if we’ve done our job right, they’ll be indistinguishable. We really wanted to make the same sort of polished, high-end next-gen experience on both those versions.”

He went on to explain that both versions will be void of the multiplayer feature because it would have distracted them from putting everything into the story line and all of the features needed for the single player mode.

He discovered that the burn to his leg came from his PSP which was sitting in his pocket.



Sony And Skype Have Big Plans For Future Of PSP

PSP With Skype LogoSony’s PSP is popular – but last year it always seemed to be trailing behind Nintendo’s DS. Sony has finally had enough and is teaming up with Skype to improve the PSP by adding an internet phone feature.

By downloading Skype’s software, which is expected to become available as early as this month, PSP users can make free Web-based phone calls with other PSP users and the users of PCs equipped with Skype software. Unfortunately the new service won’t be available to those of you with a current model. If you really want the service than you are going to have to go out and buy the new model that is set to come out in September.



Sony Updates PSP With All New Features

PSPSony his finally updating their PSP (it’s about time) by giving it the new 3.8 version firmware. Many users have been complaining that it was out of date and that it didn’t have enough features. The new firmware will allow PSP users to stream radio from the internet.

Also included will be RSS support for OPML and pictures plus the capability of 1Seg tuners to use an EPG to schedule Japanese mobile TV recordings. BB Mobile Point Demos, which means that when you’re in the vicinity of an access point for Yahoo BB Mobile Point, you can access the PlayStation Spot retail download service directly from the PSP. Obviously, this means you can pick up demos while on the go.
