PlayStation Launches Live Channel

Live Channel LogoPlayStation has launched their brand new service this week – Live Channel. The news and weather service allows you to view what is going on right at that moment in time and what kind of weather you are going to have in your area right there on your PS3 console. The service allows you to view around the 3D map of the world to search for weather and news updates.

You have the ability to pull info from the Weather Channel, Earth Television Network, and Google news. Live Channel can obtain information from at least 60 cities from around the world. The best part about this service is that it is absolutely free – as long as you have a PS3 console of course.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Pulls In Millions Of Viewers

Star Wars: The Force UnleashedWe just can’t help but be excited about the newly released demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and it looks as if most people agree with us. LucasArts bragged today that the demo was able to break all of the previous download records for Xbox Live.

They stated that during the first eight days that it was released the demo received over a million downloads. Those numbers combined with the number of people from the PlayStation Network version it is a total of 2.3 million people. With this large amount of people we can only imagine how the sales will be when the full version of the game is finally released September 16th on the Xbox 360, PS2 and 3, and Nintendo Wii.

Sony Reveals PSP-3000

PSP-3000Japan is excited to see that their sales for the PlayStation Portable has picked up. This news will only add to their success as they will be revealing the new and improved PSP soon – which will offer gamers a clearer and more crisp display screen along with other features.

Even with all of the new features that it is bound to receive there is no gaurantee that the new PSP will not be facing any competition. The Nintendo DS is still its greatest competitor and it will have to outsell these handhelds before they can truly celebrate. Already Nintendo is breaking their PS3 sales with the Wii console.

Bioshock DLC Exclusive To PS3 Owners

Bioshock On PS3Xbox 360 owners are not the only ones who will be getting a small treat this year when they are given the chance to download content for Grand Theft Auto IV. PS3 owners will also be getting the chance to download content for Bioshock. Bioshock is being released a whole year later then what was planned.

The special ‘Challenge Rooms’ will be revealed only three days after the game is released (on October 24th) in the form of a special DLC. It will also “supplement a new difficulty Survivor difficulty mode and Trophy support.” But that isn’t the best part. We have it on god authority that this special treatment will be exclusive to the PS3 version of the game.
