I think it’s safe to say that Steven Spielberg has enough experience when it comes to developing action games. He helped put together the entire Medal of Honor series –which were based off of the film Saving Private Ryan (which was his film). He stated this week that he is on the second round of studying and playing through his new game for PC – Crysis.
We imagined that his first time being a true videogame creative director would include war, guns, and blazing glory. Instead we find out that the game is a cross between Jenga and Tetris. Apparently Spielberg is separating himself from the action games and movies that he is so well known for and getting in touch with his childhood memories.

We were checking out the Mafia II official website and we happy to see some details of the new game. On the website they stated that the game will be released on the Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 with the gameplay being “virtually identical across all platforms”.
We were also given some story line information, “… a dark and seductive story about one man’s journey through the unforgiving world of the Mob. Set in an open-world environment, Mafia II ushers you into Empire City during the 1940s and 1950s.” Mafia II is one of the few games (at this time) that we are looking forward to later this year. It is set to be released November 2008.

Blizzard is well known for its popular and addictive World of Warcraft game. The ability to play with millions of other people in a world that is fascinating to many of us is what has drawn so many gamers into it. It seems though that Blizzards other fun – but not as popular game – Guild Wars may be coming more into the picture.

When we first heard about PS3’s new StreamMyGame feature we were excited. For those of you who have not heard – StreamMyGame allows PS3 gamers to install Linux onto their PS3 –which will then allow them to play their PC games on their console. Sounds exciting doesn’t?
Unfortunately this is too good to be true and you will find that there are more than a few barriers that may stand in our way. The StreamMyGame application only works if the game is actually running on your PC. The service converts a game running on the PC into an audio and video file, and then streams that file to a PS3 running Linux. What this means is that the PS3 is not actually running the game - rather it is just helping the game be display on a TV or monitor other than your PC.
