Daedalic Entertainment Makes Eco-Friendly Game

‘A New Beginning’ Game StillIt seems that everyone is trying to make our world a little more eco friendly and to protect us from the doom of global warming. But I don’t think we’ve even seen it in a video game before. Daedalic Entertainment created A New Beginning for fun and possibly even for teaching us to take care of our world.

A New Beginning is a cinematic, interactive eco-thriller. In the classic adventure game an impending global climate cataclysm threatens the world, in a story ripped from today’s headlines, dealing with the defining issue of our time. At locations all around the globe, players will have to try and stem the tide, with the whole world hanging in the balance.

Apple To Join The Portable Gaming World

Nintendo DSApple has decided to make its way to the gaming world(seems like everyone wants a piece of the action). It will be taking the iPhone and adapting it into a portable gaming device. It will still be a cellphone, but with more perks. Apparently having the internet and an iPod on a cellphone just wasn’t enough. If this happens it will be competing with Nintendo’s DS.

“Apple has been secretly plotting its foray into portable video games for months, looking to add games to its hot iPhone.” Appleinsider.com’s EIC Kasper Jade added: “I was told that a major game developer was seeded with iPhone [technology] quite some time ago.”

Spiderwick Game Made For All Systems

Spiderwick Game StillThere aren’t many games that are made for every different game systems. Usually they are exclusive to one game system. For example: Halo 3 is exclusive to the Xbox 360. The Spiderwick Chronicles game has been made for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC, and PS2.

“Sierra Entertainment is excited to announce that one of the most anticipated family entertainment films of 2008 will be coming to the world of video games as well,” said Al Simone, senior vice president, Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment.

Midway Games Creates ‘Myst’ For Nintendo DS

Myst Game StillRemember when you used to play games on your computers because well – there really wasn’t much else to play on – or everything else was just too expensive(now only the new ones are overly expensive)?

One of the most intriguing games that anyone can remember playing was Myst. For those of you who don’t know what this game is I’ll try to explain it for you. Myst is a completely thinking game. If you aren’t smart than I wouldn’t bother even trying to play it. Honestly, I could never play it on my own.

Nintendo Dominating Japan’s Game System Sales

Nintendo Mario LogoNintendo is still owning the polls (don’t worry, we’ll translate for you : ), led by the DS Lite which continues to dominate sales with 150,000 units followed by the supply constrained Wii with 77,000. The Xbox 360 saw a small sales increase, with Microsoft’s console recording 3,872 units. The big suprise? For the first time in many months, the PlayStation 3 outsold its predecessor (the PS2 for those alittle slow) with sales more than doubling from last week’s total of 12,187 to 28,829 units this week.

Hardware sales for the week ended July 29 (This is for Japan):

  • DS Lite: 150,494
