PSP Overtakes Nintendo DS…Finally!

Nintendo DS Next To PSPJapan is one of the top countries when it comes to technology(we all know America is the top dog!). For awhile it seemed like theyvoted for Nintendo along with the rest of us. That was until last week when they switched teams over to Sony.

Nintendo lost some ground in Japan with their Nintendo DS as the Sony PlayStation Portable managed to outsell the DS last week. There has been a huge leap in the sales of over 79,923 units to a total of 95,487, all credited to the launch of the PSP Slim and Lite and the release of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. However, it is not known how many of the consoles were the original PSPs or the Slim and Lite ones.

Nintendo DSPiracy is becoming ever more rampant and in the long run in hurts many gaming manufacturers. Nintendo is feeling it hard when it comes to their DS game system and is trying new ways of putting a stop to it.

Nintendo, in an effort to curb rampant piracy in South Korea of its DS handheld games, has asked South Korean prosecutors to investigate into domestic web sites that they claim have illegally been uploading copies of the games.

Its complaint filed with the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office called for action against people illegally copying and selling its games on websites. Nintendo will take further measures if copyright violations continue,” the company said.

Nintendo DS LiteNintendo has made yet another model for the new DS Lite collection. After making a black, white, and pink they have now released the silver model in Europe, which will be available October 12th.

After unveiling new Metallic Rose and Gloss Silver units for Japan in May, Nintendo had originally said that they would not be making the new colours available in Europe. The SRP of the new silver DS will be the standard £99 that we have become accustomed to for the last few months and if you don’t own a system already.

Still, that hasn’t stopped its makers announcing today that Boogie will soon be tap dancing its way onto the Nintendo DS. Boogie on the Nintendo DS is set to feature new gameplay modes and mini-games not included in the Wii version, implemented to make playing on the go a doddle. The title will include three main dancing gameplay modes (Copycat, Freestyle and Choreography), as well as a fully fledged career mode as gamers embark on a mission to become the Boogie Master.
