Nintendo Releases New Cobalt/Blue DS

Cobalt/Blue Nintendo DSNintendo will be releasing their brand new cobalt/blue Nintendo DS console adding more of a variety to the line up. The colors that have already been released are polar white, coral pink, onyx, crimson/black and the limited-edition gold and metallic rose.

We were surprised at the sudden introduction of this new color – which they were able to keep a pretty tight lid on. All of the other colors were expected and anticipated moths before their arrival.

Nintendo released the DS in November of 2004 and has sold around 17.6 million consoles in the United States. Last year Nintendo was proud to receive the title for best selling video game system in the U.S. after selling over 8.5 million.

Wii Can NOT Download Full DS Games

Nintendo DSDon’t you hate it when you get your hopes up for something great only to have them dashed when it’s taken away from you? Well it seemed to be the job of the New York Times to do just that to us. The famed newspaper had printed a story stating that Nintendo would be making a way for the Wii to download full DS games.

You can imagine how excited we were to first hear about this. The fact that we were able to go from only being able to download DS demo games instead of the full versions was a great achievement on Nintendo’s part. At least that’s what we were hoping for. Nintendo had to inform the New York Times of their mistake and printed out a statement of their own:

Nintendo Making Plans For New DS Model

Nintendo DSNintendo has stated that they are in the middle of creating a newer DS model (this one being their third). It doesn’t surprise us that Nintendo is working on another model. Before upgrading to the DS, Nintendo created three different models of the hand held Gameboy Advance.

Analyst Even Wilson had this to say about it:

“Our contacts indicate that a refreshed DS is complete,” Wilson said on Wednesday as transcribed by GameSpot. “It is thinner (it has no GBA port), has on-board storage, and larger screens. However, we do not expect a revamped Wii or DS until sales begin to tail off in all three major geographies.”

Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass On DS

Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS CoverZelda fans are excited for the new release of Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The story picks up where Wind Waker – which came out on Gamecube – left off. We left Zelda and Tetra sailing the high seas in search of the ghost ship. After finding it Tetra takes off to search it, but instead finds herself trapped on it as it sets off into the fog. Zelda jumps after her, but misses the ship and falls into the water where he loses his gear and abilities.

Blue Dragon Comes To Nintendo

Blue Dragon Game CoverAs if the Xbox 360 didn’t have enough people gawking at it while waiting for the release of Halo 3 they also had to flaunt off their exclusive RPG Blue Dragon game which isn’t going to be exclusive for very long. Blue Dragon, which was created by the brilliant mind Hironbu Sakaguchi(who created Final Fantasy)is coming to the Nintendo Wii. That’s right Nintendo is taking some of that thunder away from Microsoft and giving themselves more of it. No wonder Nintendo is winning the console war.
