Nintendo crushed the most recent rumor that has been circulating the internet for some time now concerning their DS. We were all hoping to see a new design that would improve upon Nintendo’s DS – which we were hoping to see at the E3 expo in July. Our expectations were not unfounded. It was Enterbrain’s Hirokazu Hamamura who stated that this was a “possibility”.
Despite our hopes Nintendo stated this week that it was just, “rumour and speculation.” Of course that doesn’t still leave us hoping that they might just be dodging our questions and trying to hide the news from us till they can surprise us in their own time.

Ever since the release of the Wii, Nintendo has been the talk among gamers and has been the most popular gaming console out doing even the ilustrious 360 and the legendary PS3. This Christmas proved to the gaming world that gamers love to perform and jam out to their favorite music. Now Disney is hoping to appeal to the more casual gamer with their new game – Ultimate Band that has been released for Nintendo Wii and DS.

Nintendo will be releasing their brand new cobalt/blue Nintendo DS console adding more of a variety to the line up. The colors that have already been released are polar white, coral pink, onyx, crimson/black and the limited-edition gold and metallic rose.
We were surprised at the sudden introduction of this new color – which they were able to keep a pretty tight lid on. All of the other colors were expected and anticipated moths before their arrival.
Nintendo released the DS in November of 2004 and has sold around 17.6 million consoles in the United States. Last year Nintendo was proud to receive the title for best selling video game system in the U.S. after selling over 8.5 million.

Don’t you hate it when you get your hopes up for something great only to have them dashed when it’s taken away from you? Well it seemed to be the job of the New York Times to do just that to us. The famed newspaper had printed a story stating that Nintendo would be making a way for the Wii to download full DS games.
You can imagine how excited we were to first hear about this. The fact that we were able to go from only being able to download DS demo games instead of the full versions was a great achievement on Nintendo’s part. At least that’s what we were hoping for. Nintendo had to inform the New York Times of their mistake and printed out a statement of their own:
