Sony Reveals PSP-3000

PSP-3000Japan is excited to see that their sales for the PlayStation Portable has picked up. This news will only add to their success as they will be revealing the new and improved PSP soon – which will offer gamers a clearer and more crisp display screen along with other features.

Even with all of the new features that it is bound to receive there is no gaurantee that the new PSP will not be facing any competition. The Nintendo DS is still its greatest competitor and it will have to outsell these handhelds before they can truly celebrate. Already Nintendo is breaking their PS3 sales with the Wii console.



‘Halo 4′ In The Works

Halo 4We have some great news for all of you Halo fans. There are rumors circulating the net that we will get a chance to play Halo 4. The only difference is that Gearbox will not be the creators of it.

Sources stated that Corrine Yu – who once worked for Gearbox – has transferred to Microsoft and will be the Principle Engine Programmer for Halo 4. She joined the Microsoft team only last week after helping to finish Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway for Gearbox.



Bioshock DLC Exclusive To PS3 Owners

Bioshock On PS3Xbox 360 owners are not the only ones who will be getting a small treat this year when they are given the chance to download content for Grand Theft Auto IV. PS3 owners will also be getting the chance to download content for Bioshock. Bioshock is being released a whole year later then what was planned.

The special ‘Challenge Rooms’ will be revealed only three days after the game is released (on October 24th) in the form of a special DLC. It will also “supplement a new difficulty Survivor difficulty mode and Trophy support.” But that isn’t the best part. We have it on god authority that this special treatment will be exclusive to the PS3 version of the game.



Nintendo Facing Another Lawsuit Against Wii Controller

Nintendo Wii ControllerNintendo is undergoing yet another patent fight set against the ever popular Wii videogame console. Hillcrest Labs announced this week that they are suing Nintendo over their wand shaped remote controller.

They stated in the lawsuit that the technology used for this controller is an infringement on the patent for their own “handheld three-dimensional pointing device” and that software that comes with it.

A Nintendo spokesman declined to comment, saying the company had not been contacted by Hillcrest Labs at this time. The news triggered a sell-off of Nintendo’s shares in Japan. By the close of trading in Osaka, investors had knocked 3.6% off Nintendo’s shares, which have fallen by nearly 25% since the start of the year.



80GB PS3 To Be Released Early

80GB PS3The 80GB PS3 will be launching a week early from the scheduled plan. Retailers will begin shipping this Friday 22nd of August. Both Amazon and Play will be selling the console.

Acclaim boss David Perry has said that Sony will not be able to make any profit on sales of the PS3. At his keynote speech at GCDC, Perry claimed that the company has lost more money on the Playstation 3 than it made during the five year peak sales period of the Playstation 2.
