Beware Of The ‘Wii Syndrome’
There’s another medical condition to hit the market and it’s affecting Nintendo gamers everywhere. It’s called the ‘Wii syndrome’. Medical physicians in Britain are blaming the Nintendo Wii for some minor injuries that thousands of people have been experiencing.
Osteopaths have said middle aged parents roped into playing the games with their children are especially susceptible to neck, shoulder and elbow problems that can result from playing for extended periods of time. “We noticed we were getting a number of middle-aged parents coming in having played for far too long on the Nintendo Wii that they had bought their children,” said Martin Davies, who runs five osteopathic clinics in Cheshire county.
Of course that doesn’t mean that the Wii is all bad to people. Davies stated that there might be a little good to come out of playing it. “But it is not all bad,” Davies said, “One parent reported that his son had lost a stone in weight (14 pounds) since getting a Wii for his birthday.”
So it seems that the Wii is great for the younger generation. The older generations just have to pace themselves. Or they can read the manufacturers’ guidelines for instructions to playing well said Davies.

I have been reading many articles on Wii related injuries and it is upsetting to me because, quite frankly, these are people just looking to sue Nintendo for reasons stemming from their own negligence.
My thoughts are summed up here.
It is so wonderful that Nintendo came out with a platform that provides people with a workout. The USA is a nation of fat people and so wii need the Wii! But, we are also a nation of get-rich-quick schemes and so this post and others point to a possible downfall of the Wii.
