360 Gamers Ready For Orange Box Collection
Who says that it has to be all about Halo? The Valve Corporation – creators of Half-Life - know a trend when they see one and are jumping the band wagon by creating a deal that will attract more than their share of newly converted Xbox gamers – and maybe even a few older ones.
This new package they have for people is not only something that everyone will love – but it is also a great deal for what you get. This package, named “The Orange Box,” contains Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and the newly released Half-Life 2: Episode Two, as well as two of the Valve Corporations previous games, Portal and Team Fortress 2.
The original Half Life 2 is largely unchanged, even though it’s just 360 version of the Xbox original. Unless you’ve played it, it’s difficult to describe just how good a combination of puzzle solving and first person shooter the game is. The game switches between the different elements at just about the right time, so you flip between full on gun fights and having to find your way around a dangerous environment without there being too much of either.
Taking its inventiveness from the Myst series of the ’90s, Portal puts you in the body of a test subject in the ominous Aperture Company where you are guided by a hilariously deceptive computerized voice through various tests and stages. The game is only about two hours long – but it is never boring and is worth every moment.
Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer class-based shoot ‘em up. Being almost 10 years in the making, the game play is unique and varied and provides hours of fun with a few friends or an Internet connection. This is one of those games that you resort to when you have absolutely nothing else to do and need a break from the other games. It is by far not the best in the whole package.
This is by far one of the best deals that we have seen in a few months and you can imagine how many gamers are going to be snatching this up. Just make sure that you have no other plans because once you start you won’t want to stop.
