Konami Introduces Rock Revolution

Rock RevolutionRock Revolution was revealed this week at the Konami Gamer’s Night and it was confirmed that it would be released on the PS3, Wii, DS, and Xbox 360. The game is said to feature more than 40 cover songs on the disc which will be “the most realistic drum peripheral on the market.” It will also support guitar and bass as well as the vocals and drums.

Interesting, Wii and DS versions will seemingly be stripped down and/or optimized for their respective strengths. Online multiplayer will not be supported on either, but the Wii version supports air drumming and air guitar like Disney’s forthcoming Ultimate Band, and the DS version will support vocals.

360/PS3 Version Of Star Wars: Force Unleashed “Indistinguishable”

Star Wars: Force UnleashedCameron Suey the producer of the new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed stated that, “Between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, if we’ve done our job right, they’ll be indistinguishable. We really wanted to make the same sort of polished, high-end next-gen experience on both those versions.”

He went on to explain that both versions will be void of the multiplayer feature because it would have distracted them from putting everything into the story line and all of the features needed for the single player mode.

Spielberg Uses Childhood Memories As Inspiration For Video Games

Crysis Game StillI think it’s safe to say that Steven Spielberg has enough experience when it comes to developing action games. He helped put together the entire Medal of Honor series –which were based off of the film Saving Private Ryan (which was his film). He stated this week that he is on the second round of studying and playing through his new game for PC – Crysis.

We imagined that his first time being a true videogame creative director would include war, guns, and blazing glory. Instead we find out that the game is a cross between Jenga and Tetris. Apparently Spielberg is separating himself from the action games and movies that he is so well known for and getting in touch with his childhood memories.
