Grand Theft Auto IV has sold an amazing 6009,000 copies in the UK on its first day of release. The anticipated game has even become more popular then Halo 3 (if that’s possible).
That’s right! They managed to sell over 335,000 units on the Xbox 360 on the first day – which beat out Halo 3’s number of 266,000. Sales on PS3 for GTA IV were 274,000 units day one, easily making GTA IV the top selling PS3 debut in the UK. The previous record for an opening day debut was 501,000 units in the UK, held by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

When Playstation delayed the new PlayStation Home online community for the PS3 we were all a bit disappointed - but we understood that sometimes these things happen. However, now that it has been delayed for the second time we are beginning to wonder whether or not it will actually come around.
The service was first announced in July last year and promised to provide users with the ability to create their own avatars and participate in a real-time virtual world, something like a cross between the Mii avatars on Nintendo’s Wii and the Second Life community. At the time Sony said it would be available globally in the “fall” of 2007 but that was delayed until “spring” 2008 at the Tokyo Game Show.

Nintendo has come out with another successful venture called the Wii Fit. In this new game players will improve their fitness, balance, and strength using a pressure sensitive balance board. With this board they will be able to play virtual football and imitate different yoga positions.
Nintendo has already pre-sold close to 60,000 copies of the game and staying true to its reputation they have already put themselves in a bind by running out of stock. Now they have ceased taking orders.

This week we received news that an updated version of Soul Calibur is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade. The game – which is one of the best of Dreamcast games – will have brand new leaderboards, and a more advanced Survival, Arcade, and Training modes.
Apparently, though, there’ll be no online multiplayer - unlike Capcom’s XBLA version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Some news sites have reported that the ‘original’ Soul Calibur is coming to Xbox - which, is technically incorrect - that was Soul Edge (or Soul Blade if you prefer), from 1996.
