Gears Of War 2 Release Set For November

Gears of Wars StillAt the 2008 Game Developers Conference Microsoft announced the official arrival date of the anticipated Gears of War 2. The Xbox 360 game will be released in November. Gears of War 2 has an epic story line that is full of survival and many other major things. The game continues the story of Marcus Fenix and the Delta Squad.



PS3 Reaches 1 Million Mark In UK

PS3Sony is excited to see that they have sold over 1 million of their PS3 consoles in the UK since it has been released in March of 2007. They were able to reach this goal after only 47 weeks. This has broken the old record of 50 weeks that it took for the PS2 to reach this 1 million mark.

Sony also managed to beat Microsoft’s Xbox 360, which took 60 weeks, but comes nowhere near the runaway success of Nintendo’s Wii which reached a million UK sales in just 38 weeks. Entertainment market research firm ChartTrack also revealed that the PS3 has been outselling the Xbox 360 for the past month, although they were “neck and neck over the Christmas period”.



Devil May Cry 4 Demo Reaches 1 Million Downloads

Devil May Cry 4Xbox 360 gamers were ready and waiting on Xbox Live – the online network – for the Devil May Cry 4 demo to be available on January 24th. If Capcom was worried about it being a big hit they can worry no more. Not even a month has passed and yet there have been over 1 million downloads.

Capcom has been keeping track of the progress and has stated that it has been downloaded an average of 25,000 times per day. Additionally, it said that the game is a hit at retail, with reorders from major retailers days after the title’s release.



Spielberg Teams Up With EA To Create ‘Boom Blox’ For Wii

‘Boom Blox’Steven Spielberg has decided to branch from the movie industry and to dig his heels into the next best thing – gaming. He has teamed up with EA games and created a whole new world and new game for the Nintendo Wii called Boom Blox. The new game - which will be released in May of 2008 – has been based around the concept of the popular Jenga game.

Burning PSPThe PSP is one of the more popular portable gaming consoles on the market and until now it has been sold to thousands of gamers with no problems or complaints. 12 year old – Henry Clay – was sitting in class trying to learn from his teachers when he felt his leg burning as if it were on fire. He discovered that the burn to his leg came from his PSP which was sitting in his pocket.
