Sony Adding DivX Feature To PS3

PS3Sony has decided to pull out all the stops and is challenging Microsoft and Nintendo by introducing something great to spice up the PS3. Sony has added a new feature that will have everyone jumping for joy. They are integrating DivX video technology into the PS3 offering gamers an incredible digital experience.

DivX is a popular video format; the company currently makes a player for both Windows and Mac OS X. DivX is also supported on a number of consumer electronics, such as digital cameras, DVD Players, and cell phones. We all know that the PS3 can already play DVD’s, CD’s, and Blu-ray’s – DivX support is improving upon this and making it an even better media center.



Is The DVD Wii Coming Or Not?

DVD Enabled WiiThe rumors stating that the DVD enabled Wii will not be arriving this year have been greatly exaggerated. A few weeks ago we heard a rumor stating that they wouldn’t be able to produce enough to distribute them around the world. We all know that rumors can change over night and change they did.

This week Nintendo released a statement stating that they have been delayed – but they are trying their hardest to get it to everyone. You can read the statement they released:



Wii Introduces New ‘Mii’ Channel

Nintendo ‘Mii’ ChannelNintendo has created a place where fellow Mii’s can hang out together by launching a new Wii channel that is exclusive to them. The channel – which will be launching this week – allows users to upload the avatars that they have created and to share their ‘Mii’ characters with other gamers.

“The Check Mii Out Channel lets people show off their Mii creations and vote on those created by others,” Nintendo of America Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison said. The new channel will have various competitions, including look-alike contests where users will be asked to create Mii representations of movie stars, or of descriptive themes like “the overbearing boss”.



Microsoft Takes Parental Control To The Next Level

Xbox 360Parents don’t mind it if their children the new Xbox 360 that they spent so much money to get – but trying to control how much they play is something that they have found hard to do. It’s one thing to tell your kid not to do something – but when you aren’t there what are stopping them from doing it anyway? Microsoft has solved every parent’s problems by creating the ‘Family Timer’.



Japan Recycles PS2

PS2The holidays are the best time to get great deals on games and gaming consoles. Sure you may not always get the brand new one that has been released – but there is always something out there for you to get that could be almost as good. Japan at least is showing us how to do this by re-designing the PS2 for those who want one – but don’t want to pay the $500 it takes to get the PS3.
